31/3/2025 note: doykeit and diasporism is all the rave in jewish anti-zionist communities in the diaspora, i've found, after connecting with fellow (but not exraeli) anti-zionist jewish activists after 7/10/23.
i've always had mixed feelings about what "diasporism" means for jews like me... what it means for exraeli jews who see the holy land as their home, despite all the shit that comes with it.
((and also what it means for jews from the SWANA region, many of whom can't yet return to their homelands... whether it be because of zionism, or antisemitism, or likely a mix of both.))
where do we each fit into diasporism? as (eager) immigrants, as (reluctant) immigrants, as refugees that were forcefully displaced or ethnically cleansed, as refugees that are internally displaced, as indigenous peoples (a term in proximity to colonization), as natives, as nomads, as diasporists...
god.. who will we mend all the broken hearts of the middle east?
of this colonial, capitalist, ethnic-supremacist world?
